Splash Arts Academy was formed by
Charlotte Henson to enable children to express
themselves through Drama, Singing and Dance.
Children will be introduced to the basic art of
Musical Theatre and will learn warm-ups, exercises
to improve basic technique and how to perform and
work along side each other.
Students will
explore the history of musical theatre by studying
shows and films from all eras and styles. Students
will learn songs and act out scenes from shows
like Oklahoma, Wicked, Wizard of Oz and also
lesser-known musicals.
Each year Splash Arts produce two
performances to enable students to experience
performing in front of an audience. One show is an
informal friends and family show to display
techniques learned in class. The second show is
merged with the dance school and will be a
professional run performance. Splash Arts Academy
will also from time to time arrange trips to see
shows which will give the children the opportunity
to see others perform to help them with their own
performances.
During school holidays, Themed day
workshops take place to allow children to enjoy a
whole day of acting, singing and dancing, also
incorporating costume & prop making based on a
popular production. Parents arrive at the end of
the day to a short performance of what they have
learned. In the summer, Splash Arts holds an
activity week giving the children a fun filled
week of dancing, singing, drama, costume & prop
making, day trips, sports activities and much
more… Themed day workshops and Activity weeks are
open to all friends and family of Splash Arts
Students.
Children can
join at any time through the term but may not be
able to be in the shows if only just joined a
couple week prior.
Times can be
found on the timetable page and the fees can be
found on the fees page.
