Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of any dance technique. From the age of 2, children are taught the basic foundation of steps in an imaginative and fun way. As the child progresses though the grades they start to learn the correct posture and the basic technique needed right through to the senior grades. At this stage pupils are taught steps which will allow them to persue a career if they wish.
Modern
Modern is a fun class in which children learn fun set routines to modern music. Splash Dance Academy follows the I.S.T.D Syllabus and includes natural movement along with rhythm and musicality.
Tap
Tap is a class which teaches children rhythm using their feet. From Grade 1, children are taught very basic steps from walking through to shuffles. As more steps are learnt children are able to improvise to different rhythms and incorporate their own style throughout their tap using very quick footwork and complex steps.
Jazz/Limbering
Jazz incorporates free work. Children are taught fun routines to pop music often seen on TV. The limbering class is a work out class aimed at improving the Childs flexibility.
Cheerleading
Cheerleading is a “New” Class to Splash Dance. In this lesson pupils will be taught simple cheerleading routines using simple steps, shapes and patterns along with Pom Poms.
